I was very pleased with the reporting, found it illuminating and very interesting. Far more thorough than I imagined. The health section was super helpful as it helped highlight a sensitivity I didn’t know I had. I’m a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews, since CRI’s findings coincide directly with my documented family history. Unfortunately, the one area that disappointed me was that I didn’t have enough mitochondrial DNA for them to give results on my Paternal and Maternal Haplogroups but I was refunded in full for those tests. I had to inquire about this though, because those tests were missing when everything else was uploaded. I do believe they should have reached out about the issue, instead of having me inquire as to why those reports were simply showing as “processing.” Overall, I would give CRI Genetics 8.8/10.

They (CRI) were over the 8 weeks to process, but were apologetic and refunded my money...and posted my results for free! A stand out among companies nowadays for honesty.Just for your information...CRI testing confirmed my allergy panel and my wife's allergy panel done by a local M.D.I got no surprises, but my wife's test was VERY different than we expected, Later checking of birth records/service records/marriage records showed CRI was correct, in that here ancestry showed she was mostly south American (Peru).I opted for the maternal and y haplogroup testing and also no surprises therePeople want fluff, not facts, and I wanted facts....not fluff. I'm intelligent enough to do the research. I know my history back to mid-1500's. CRI DNA agreed with the research.I'm sorry that people aren't genetically what they thought that they should be. We're mostly mongrels if you aren't African, and I'm pleased that CRI seems to give a crap about honesty. It says worlds for them.Mark

I would not recommend this company and I suspect some of the glowing reviews and online reviews are simply advertising or fake. My major complaint is simply bizarre inaccuracy. I have a well documented genealogy back to immigrants from Brit Isles and a couple from Germany in 16th-18th century and a 23&Me report matched this, plus a couple of low percentage surprises. I just received the CRI ancestry report after having to complain that it had not been sent after 10 weeks. It looks ridiculous, with a higher French ancestry than British, a claim that one of my grandparents was Peruvian (I knew them all), one of my 19th century ancestors was Gujarati, and another about 1800 was Punjabi --all with "99% accuracy"! We all know that DNA may not match family "lore" and nonpaternity may be hidden, but if I had to choose accuracy between the 23&me results that match my documented genealogy and known American immigration history, and the CRI results that alleges multiple recent ancestors from remote parts of the world, its an easy decision. I would be happy to be provided enough documentation from CRI to convince me they are more accurate than 23&Me, but I am not holding my breath.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THEIR HEALTH BUNDLE. I was quite disappointed with the lack of information for "health"...unless you care about whats the best way for you to diet. If that matters to you- go for it. That is their entire "Health" Section..how you should be eating or dieting..I'm legitimately sad and I feel ripped off. 23 at least gives you information on ACTUAL genetic risks such as Parkinson's or Dementia AND the Maternal /Paternal Haplogroups are included...CRIgenetics is an additional $83 EACH. Infact- 23andMe does everything CRIgenetics does and more Ancestry was great...but I just feel empty when in regards to my Genetic Health concerns...dont waste your money like I did

Interesting results that align closely with the likes of Gedcom/gedmatch. When you think about that many people constantly migrate from one region to another (or historic invations and conquests) everyone's bloodline gets pretty much mixed up so no test will be able to guess where our ancestors decided to locate. Despite this, I was shown to have 25% French. We always thought it was Germanic, but then, there was a lot of migration across the ages through this area. It accurately showed our dna from 3 continents, though there was much discussion in my family of the countries selected. Only downside is that Ancestry won't accept results from other testers (eg, Myheritage etc) but accuracy is probably about as good as it could get.

AncestryDNA is a complete rip off. Everything they told us, we knew from googling our last name (which I had done). They did not include anything outside of that information. They did not include anything from my Native American ancestry at all. A person can look at me and tell it's there. I certainly do not look like I am completely Irish and British considering my dark skin, hair, and eyes. What a total waste of time and money. I do not recommend ever using them. There has to be more reputable companies out there.

I have been really disappointed with my results!!!! I am 100% sure I am half Russian and half Italian but the results showed that I am 0% Russian an 27% Italian. Even my Native American results (which were 1%) were higher than Russian! I can not believe it, because my mums side is fully Russian. I hope the company will improve in the future.

After testing with Family Tree DNA, my husband and I decided to expand our list of relatives and explore the database offered by Ancestry. We found so many new relatives, some of which were located in Europe, out of all places. If you’re adamant about researching your genetic past in-depth, doing a single test is not enough, not by a long shot. Ancestry gave us much more information than FTDNA, but we still have to do the 23andMe test and check their database as well.
